The Dartmouth & District Indoor Pool Trust was set up to build and run a long awaited pool for residents of the area. Sufficient grants were achieved to build the pool – full planning permission was obtained; construction initiated – and now completed!. The pool was opened by Duncan Goodhew on 3 December 2016.

Building costs were covered by:

£1.5 million pledged by Devon County Council

£400,000 pledged by South Hams District Council

£150,000 pledged by Dartmouth Town Council

£50,000 pledged by the Garfield Weston Foundation

£20,000 pledged by St Petrox Trust Lands

£9,100 pledged by Dartmouth United Charities for disabled equipment

Grainge Architects, Exeter have produced plans for a 25 metre x 4 lane indoor pool with a separate learner pool. Kier Construction is contracted to build the pool
